Hair On Trend

There’s no doubt about it; our wigs are an investment. A good quality human hair wig can last years, so our clients like to embrace classic looks. But classic can still be on trend – especially this year. I’m very excited about some of the hair trends that have been emerging in 2011 – they are very wig friendly.

• Bangs: Bangs are back. This is great news for wig wearers. Not only do you not have to worry about a telltale hairline but you also don’t have to worry about having your bangs trimmed. It is a look that can be worn by all ages: thick blunt bangs worn with long tousled hair gives a young bohemian look or can be styled straight and sleek for a more polished sophisticated look.

• The Bob: Did anyone see Jennifer Aniston’s new haircut? She has cut her longer locks and opted for a chin length longer bob. I think this is a look that is going to take off – both with a fringe and without. The good news for our clients is that shorter wigs are less expensive. Clients that have purchased longer wigs from us in the past and want a shorter look can book an appointment with Brock for a cut in.

• The Pixie Cut: Emma Watson has been turning heads with her new pixie crop. It is very reminiscent of Twiggy’s hair in the 60’s. Carey Mulligan on the cover of October’s issue of Vogue wore a pixie cut with a longer fringe – very sexy and young. It’s a look that I think will appeal to some of my older clients. I am currently designing a wig specifically for shorter styles. Keep checking the blog and I’ll let you know when the prototypes are in!
