Long, Dark and Just Right

An old friend came to see me yesterday. Adrienne has been wearing Continental Hair wigs since she was a teenager. Now she has teenagers of her own. It’s always a treat when she comes by and it’s too bad she lives a long drive away. But every two years or so I can count on a visit for her to get something new.

It’s always the same; long and dark. Very dark. Sometimes they don’t make them dark enough and I have to colour it darker. That’s her colour and it works.

Alopecia clients very rarely try something new. Many do not want to call attention to their hair. This can sometimes lead to cross purposes since it is normal for a woman to change her hair occasionally. But with Adrienne she keeps her style and colour because it suits her perfectly.

On this visit she had her mom with her. They were spending an afternoon in Yorkville with some new hair. It had been decades since I last saw her. It was a great meet-up.
