The Blonde Wig Rescue

A couple of cancellations today because of that cold that is whipsawing through town. I had it last week and it’s no fun. So it was fortunate that when I got the 911 call we could handle it.

A woman phoned asking about blonde human hair wigs and if we had them in stock. She said her sister has alopecia universalis and was in desperate need of new hair. Evidently she had one from England but when she went to wash it the thing matted up into a ball.

I have my suspicions as to why…

But I said I’d be happy to help out. I asked when would she like to book an appointment. She said they could be here in 20 minutes.

Okay.

They arrived about 15 minutes later. I knew who I was going to be working with because she wore a hoodie that not only covered her head but her face as well.

Although they lived nearby in the Annex they had never heard of me. That 30 foot sign overlooking Avenue Road is so useless. They did find me with a google search.

She showed me a photo of how she likes to wear her hair. A very high blonde falling just below the shoulders. I bring out a June (processed human hair) wig. She likes the colour but wants a lace front. So I go back, mumbling to myself as I get down on my knees to look for the right wig. “Why do I stock these on the bottom shelf when they are so popular?”

I bring out two wigs, one 14″ and one 18″. They are platinum blonde Junes, all hand made, French tops with Lace fronts. She loved the colour.

Her sister was thrilled. They decided on the 14″. I got a hold of Laila and we had it styled right then. They both walked out smiling.

Yeah, I’m starting to get good at this.
